Life Cycles Constellations is an unique educational and therapeutic experience for women of any age and background who would like to study life and the arc of her own development across the female life cycles lived experiences within the world-earth.
It is one part of a larger innovative somatic-based eco-psychological approach part of Carla's doctoral research- called
Somatic Ecology Awareness.

The female life cycles are a series of ongoing multi layered complex processes that interweave our biology with psycho-spiritual development. It offers women a living system of maturation deeply engaged with the creative and dissolving aspects of life and nature, as it intersects with culture, society and ecological processes.

The cycles of menstruation, pregnancy, birthing, nursing, menopause, abortion, loss, adoption…etc. affects any woman’s sense of self very deeply as well as her perceptions and notions of life and the world around her. Often she might feel trans-form- ed, or even ‘weathered’ by these meaningful events that will continue to “form-her” and her world throughout her life.

Rarely , in modern living and there is enough time or the right space to make sense of the depth of the experiencing that has occurred, to understand the breadth of the transformations that the female body undergoes and how is shaping her psyche, her life, her world and relationships. More than often the inherent and implicit wisdom that lies therein the very experiencing itself of the processes are lost to women in the rush of everyday life. Other times these cycles are incomplete or unfinished an often women report as ‘something missing’ or ‘not quite come to terms with’ after a birth, miscarriage, abortion, menopause, etc. affecting a woman’s natural physical and emotional ability to co-regulate, which is of paramount importance to her well-being, sense of self and purpose in life and the world.

The process takes the shape of a somatic based biographical journey within a safe nurturing psycho-educational, experiential and therapeutic setting. Women are given somatic tools and taught the practice of felt sensing and deep listening amongst other embodied, creative and formative skills whilst given the opportunity to explore into their existence and delve into their own most personal and intimate or collective material of the feminine being, sometimes to remember and uncover what has been forgotten or never known about their own female cyclical history. Other times to access deep embodied wisdom, to feel and understand more deeply how these cyclical experiences are shaping them within the context of life. Often, the biological life cycles processes connect with with particular themes, issues in their lives at that time. Rather than learning a model, women learn to form their own evolution process, and derive meaning from the constellation process itself.

Most of the times the process helps a woman to translate the richness, complexities and subtleties of her inner life experiencing perpetually responding to the life process of the larger context of the world-earth, and bringer to a closer understanding of who she is in the present moment now and how she is evolving within the rest of life and nature.

The process takes place within a small group of women (maximum 6) moving through four main constellations cycles which are:

Menstruation Cycle-The ‘I’ sense of Self
Maternity Cycle- The ‘other’ explored in three phases: Childbearing (conception, gestation), Birth and Puerperium (nursing, postnatal phase leading into motherhood)
Menopause Cycle- The world
Womb Cycle- The Earth Life (sub-themes: loss, death, abortion, miscarriage, infertility, womb loss)
