Individual sessions provide a safe, held and receptive space for the client to attend to what is experiencing in her life.
The therapeutic approach is deeply embodied, relational and process-based*,
taking the form of what the client’s needs and issues are in the present moment, whilst being-with the bodily experience and what emerges through the felt-sense.
This involves paying attention to symptoms in the body, to spontaneous gestures or movements,
a particular posture or the arising sensations, images, feelings, emotions and associations, at the same time as establishing a felt-sensed dialogue, to come to experience somatically and process formatively the deeper psychological, energetic and emotional material.
Sessions might include gentle breath and specific somatic movement awareness or experiential anatomy exercises , mirror-work, and body-work, if needed, as well as the use of other creative and nature-based processes. Self-care /embodiment practices and menstrual cycle awareness are often encouraged in between sessions to enhance the continuation of the work, building client's somatic abilities and deeper knowing of herself and her life through the body.
Over time, client cultivates a relationship to psyche and soma (sentient life of the body)
whilst orienting as to how their personal history intersects with the bio/psycho/social/ecological/trans-personal dimensions and contexts of her life.
Healing often emerges spontaneously as the body comes to life,
and retrieves held natural life-forces within us.
Overall the work will foster growth, vitality and resilience whilst supporting the development of inner resources, creativity and emotional co-regulation in the face of trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, loss, bereavement, illness and grief, whether personal, inter-generational, or ecological.
Areas of specialization are: Pre and perinatal matters and women’s life cycles/transitions- from conception through pregnancy, birth, lactation, postnatal, to miscarriage, abortion, womb loss, menstruation, peri- menopause and beyond.
